Maybe the older, more experienced guys command more wedge. They also got in there first. Maybe there just isn't room in the budget for 3 years. Maybe the scope will change in a couple of years.

| Quote warrior24="warrior24"Good signing. You've just got yourself another Lee Gilmour type player.'"
No he's not got Gilmours pace.
He is more of a Flannery, very solid defender, not spectacular. Bryn Hargreaves type but as a back rower. That should keep Ski happy.

| Quote Sthelens RLFC="Sthelens RLFC"So for next season we have:
Fullbacks:
Wellens, Hohaia
Wingers:
Gardner, Meli, Foster, Makinson
Centre:
Shenton, Meli, Soliola, Wheeler
Half backs:
Hohaia, Lomax, Wheeler, Gaskell
Props:
TP, Laffranchi, Perry, Clough, LMS, Magennis
Hooker:
Roby, Moore
Back Row:
Soliola, Wilkin, Flannery, Flanagan, Magennis, Ashurst and Dixon
Possibly Pryce may stay but looking increasingly unlikely.
My big worry is that 4 of our 6 props are, by trade, second rowers. I suppose we always knew Cloughy would end up at prop but Magennis, Laffranchi and TP will all be playing prop despite it not being their natural position. If we added James Graham to that squad or Paul Anderson 2005/2006 I'd be over the moon. Alas, I think we're a big machine short, especially with the injury doubts over Perry.'"
At least we will never be short of a back rower!

| Where does that leave Ashurst and Dixon who will both be 22 at the start of the season? I think they will be too old to go out on dual reg.
I suppose they could go out on loan though, or will they be released?

| A massive, overwhelming "Meh".
Another back rower - just what we need! If he's good enough to nail down a back row spot, at least it frees up TP to play prop.

Season long loan to a SL club is what they need, i reckon. Give them some proper game time. Flanaghan's arrival is certainly an obsticle for them.
This is a slightly underwhelming signing, for me, but given his age he could turn into a real success. I remeber being very impressed with him in that derby in the rain, when Kyle slid over for the winner late on.
I'm wondering whether we're struggling to secure another prop, though and instead boosting the back row instead, thus using less props from the kick off.

| with your remaining OOC players being Ade Gardner, Leon Pryce, Gareth Frodsham, Tom Armstrong. Do you think that any of them will be in Saints shirts next season?

The general concensus is that pryce will be gone, but it will be a massive loss if true. I think Armstrong has great potential, but in the period when he returned from his dual reg at Leigh, we rarely picked him.
