Totally agreed about St Helens , it's gone from passable to dreadful- I've never liked Liverpool either though - it's full of horribly dressed 'women' with too much fake tan and Dolly Parton blonde hair... plus the OTT scouse accent is possibly the most annoying in the country. Sadly Wigan is actually not a bad night out or if you do fancy a city I'd opt for Manchester.

Any reasonably priced accommodation around your way (just for the Sat night). Or would we be better off heading towards Liverpool for a session?
'"
Well, there [iis[/i reasonably priced accommodation in St Helens but the drinking venues around the town centre can be full of St Helens people, which to some is a bit of a problem. (I couldn't possibly comment myself, being from St Helens) There are a couple of decent pubs in Eccleston (the posh district of St Helens), which is where Knowsley Road actually is, and taxis back into the town centre don't cost the earth if you decide to stay in the locality.
Personally, I'd avoid Liverpool like the plague but then I don't like Liverpool, so I would say that.

| Stockton Heath just outside Warrington is a great night out with plenty of places to drink, eat and good guest houses all within a stones throw of each other. Warrington to Saints is about 20 minutes by car or a bit less by train.

| The Premier Inn on the Albert Dock in Liverpool is really good (more upmarket than the normal ones) reasonabley priced aswell. Or you could try the most over rated, over priced hotel in Merseyside, the Park Inn St.Helens. Whilst enjoying your Sunday morning breakfast you have the beautiful view of the car boot sale and th`otties, what more could you ask for.

| The Formula One hotel is a good cheap option if you're not that bothered about amenities. It's clean and about £30 per room. Rooms can accommodate up to three with a double bed and a single above. It's no bother unless you're sensitive about that sort of thing.

Never been in one, but I know it's next to the Formula 1.
Or after searching, maybe not, is it an Ibis next to the Formula 1 then?

Go to Liverpool. It's like New York compared to St Helens.

| Liverpool has a much higher hottie to trottie ratio than other areas. If you ignore, or like me like their accent.

| To be fair, I think most are doing St Helens down here, it's not that bad a night out, but it probably won't be the best you've ever had.
Liverpool is far better, but you'd expect that of a city compared to a town.
