Who should Saints pick for next week depending on who wins this week?



I think if Castleford beat Wire we'll pick Cas next week



But if Wire beat Cas tonight we'll make Wigan play play Wire next week and we'll choose the winner on Friday?

IMO our best chance for the trophy is if Wire beat Wigan.

I'd not exactly be confident, but I can see us taking Warrington in the final. I can't see us, or anyone else, beating Wigan.



That may be the pessimist in me.

I agree with both of you.



I wouldn't fancy us in a final v Wigan, purely because of who we have missing. At full strength I'd fancy us.



Therefore if Warrington beat Cas we simply have to send them to Wigan and hope they do us a favour, whilst taking plenty out of their own tank in the process.



If Cas win then we may fancy them again after last week, but a Catalans win would mean we would surely pick them over Cas?

My order of preference would be:



Cas

Catalans

Hudds

Wire

Would we be the first team not to pick the lowest placed team if Warrington and hudds win ?

Weren't huddersfield picked last year even though they finished top?

Yeah, Warrington have already took the brave decision to choose an easy beat over the lowest placed side.



I'm not convinced McManus would however. Back in the early days he reacted badly to the concept and stated he'd always choose the lowest ranked didn't he?



Personally I'd pick Warrington. That way we can lose to them at home rather than spending £100+ to spend a night being tortured by a defeat at Old Trafford to Wigan or Wire.

If we choose Warrington when Hudds or Catalans are available to choose then we are stupid.

I'd pick the easiest team regardless of where they finished in the league

Definitely let Wigan and Warrington go at each other and play whoever is left, assuming Wire win tonight that is.
