| From watching the game today Watkins seems a very natural kicker/striker of the ball perhaps he is worth investing time in to be the next kicker?

| Agreed re: Watkins.....relaxed kicker and a nice unhurried rhythm.

| Today I thought Watkins was good, Baldwinson tried hard, Parcel really good and I thought Galloway produced a lot of go forward.
Ward looked very rusty not helped by being played out of position - Briscoe looks shot and Handley/Delaney looked injured?
Not sure about all our props turning into half backs but it does appear to be delivering results

| Wardy looked to be carrying as did Handley. Briscoe may pick up after confidence boosting try.....which to be fair was a good spot blindside.

| Briscoe had a late fitness test on a dead leg which may explain his performance being off.
Did Baldwinson get decent minutes today?

| Quote PrinterThe="PrinterThe"Big loss for Salford in France. We're nicely placed in 2nd (only on points difference) and we still have plenty of room for improvement all be it with a game extra played, that's not too shabby whatever people's thoughts of coaching, playing, management personal.
We now get to rest a few after the testing Easter weekend with a comfortable Cup game whilst most teams have to go strong again with their lineups. League table will be balanced out this time next week wrt games played and we'll still be well placed with a very winnable next league game at home to Hudds.'"
Would be nice to give Garbutt or Cuthbertson a game off if possible. With singleton back both is an option.
Maybe one of jjb or Delaney too.

| Believe me after playing 3 games in 7 days last year, I'm not surprised we started to run out of gas in the second half it's incredibly physically draining

| Agree with most of what's been said & i'll also add the responses after Cas & Wire away has been very good especially as we are continually picking injuries up.
Wrt Handley i thought he played well & did nowt wrong.
Ward in the Centres didnt work in terms of attacking threat nor with the fwd rotation & imo it's something i hope we dont see again.
Overall 4pts is a very good return just a shame Mullally got injured as he's been playing well.

| It was interesting to note that the Widnes tries came after Ward was removed. The upset caused by positional changes at that point, combined with tired forwards (Mullally already out of the game before the half) definitely contributed.
There was a lot of frantic discussion on the bench around the time of JJB coming off suggesting he was injured (I thought I heard Jason D say back injury over the mic).
The forwards have earned a rest

I personally thought the Widnes substitute, was it Johnstone or Walsh? was the change that brought them impetus. Really did cause us all sorts of problems.

| I think it was Johnstone's introduction that made in roads around the ruck. Cuthbertson, Garbutt and Galloway were finding it tough getting back and set. That with Delaney carrying injury into the game, Ward removed, Mullally off before half time and a suspected niggle JJB picked up means the intro of a smart half back will be hard to handle.

Farnworth on debut was the one that got us going and looked good. Walsh was also on debut.
As a Widnes fan I'm not too disheartened.
We had 9 players out through injury before the game and lost 3 in the first half, meaning a prop on his first game back had to play the full 80. We also had 2 debutants. There were two tries in there that were more than preventable.
Theres no doubt we'll be bottom 4 but I'm confident when everyone is fit we'll be more than fine. Our best 17 is no worse than Huddersfield or Leigh's.
