| Quote Mark_Thompson="Mark_Thompson"Lima should be called up. It was a disgraceful tackle and the ref judged it bad enough to be sin binned.
Carmont isnt a dirty player and I think that one was accidental. It looked pretty bad but I think he will get away with that.
"Super" Sam tries to get involved in every little scuffle there is. Its just a shame Cross didnt break Tomkins fecking skull. It wont be long before he gets what he deserves the scummy little st'"
No he didnt! He only blows his whistle once the leeds players run in! He then obviously gets a word in his ear and then pretends to get ocnfirmation off his linesman who also hadnt flagged for the incident and only came on the pitch due to the players running in!!
If Carmonts was accidental how will he be "getting away with it!!"
But it was prob as accidental as a Senior boot in the head!!
I would have loved Cross to have got hold of Sam! Would have been good to see him pick on a full back!

| Only Jeff Lima knows what his intent was. In my opinion (and its only an opinion !) he went in with the shoulder to cause injury. If he was trying to stop a leg drive, why didn't he use his arms to wrap up the legs ?
Its ironic the pies are bleating about opponents unfairly targetting little Sam (forgetting of course that Sean Long and Rob Burrow have had many years of this attention) whilst condoning Lima's attempt to injure a young Leeds player.
If this is a legitimate tackling technique, I assume there will no whining from the clog wearing pie munchers when they have players sidelined for 9 months needing knee reconstructions.
Its a shame Nathan Brown didn't follow through with his threat to send Keith Mason after opposition play makers

Quote Old Feller="Old Feller"Coach Maguire's comment here explain the Lima tackle, apparently it was all Clarkson's fault for not falling correctly:

What he actually claims is that he fell the wrong way. One can only assume that, had he fallen the right way, Lima would have succeeded in his aim of hospitalising him.

| Quote Bill_Barlow="Bill_Barlow"Were obviously going out to injure players when were practising it on eachother
'"
In the warm up your players were working on two defenders holding the ball carrier with a third player attacking the legs.
In the game Clarkson was held by two defenders, Lima attacked the leg, below the knee with his shoulder.
It's cheap and there's no need for it in the game. The player's reaction tells you all you need to know. Kylie (who is one of the most placid hard men in the game) went straight after Lima the next time he looked likely to get the ball (he was used as a dummy).
I'm with Nathan Brown. You may not get penalised by the RFL, you may. It may be borderline legal, it may not. But the players themselves will deal with it. You have some big hard players and some skillful backs. I don't mind niggle, I don't mind intimidation but I've no time for what Maguire coaches his teams to do. I hope the rest of the league takes Nathan Brown's advice to heart when they play you. It looked to me like we did on Friday as we were all in on a couple of occasions.

| No action taken against Carmont at all.
I wonder how Hauraki's nose is, must be ok since it clearly wasn't hit by Carmont.
Play-acting faker!!
