just letting the people of leeds who have been before,if you went in the afternoon to make a night of it.now you will have to vacate the place and go to the back of the queue.

If you want to spend all day in there you either have money to burn or a hatred of all the other drinking establishments in the centre







...and that's not even going into how long you have to queue to usually get in

So two changes to the temporary alcohol licence that is needed, both in order to control drunkenness and conduct after previous experiences ?



The police don't licence the outlets by the way, the magistrates do after considering evidence from any source who wants to offer it, including the police who have to deal with the after effects of all day drinking.



Sounds fair to me.

I usually just have a cup of that mulled wine or punch .Its very nice then I'm away.

I went to the one in Manchester last year - makes ours look sh*te.

And it is nothing like a real German christmas market.

the same happened last year in manchester, the xmas market closed early.the local pubs and restaurants complained about loss of trade.as for overpriced £7 for 2 pints(£3.50 for a pint) you will pay that and more anywhere in leeds

No I won't. Hence why it's overpriced. £3:50 a pint? Pfft!

You seem to be just focused on the alcohol sales and it appears that there is a common theme between at least Leeds and Manchester where alcohol sales licence restrictions have been placed because of problems. Its quite normal for other licenced outlets to object to new locations opening up and its part of the planning and licencing committees duties to consider these as part of their city centre strategy, their recommendations are taken into account together with the police opinion of crowd control/conduct.



Is your problem based on the fact that they (or is it you, what is your involvement) aren't allowed unrestricted sales of alcohol with no regard to the consequences, or is it something else ?





How about having the German Market with no alcohol sales outlet, just food and gifts, would that be acceptable to you ?
