| Think he is just average squad player. Stood out in a crusaders team but at a bigger club found out a bit

100% definite definite time for him to go
hes a rubbish no1 coach. may be able to cut as no1 in the lower leagues but not super league, only a no2 in this league
he did nothing at quins, just kept them floating.
obviously learnt nothing whilst working with tony smith otherwise would have them playing better than they are.
said ages ago he should have gone and prsonally u dont want him coaching our team
he has always hated leeds.hated us when at bradford and hunslet. hes only here for the money
BRIAN MCDERMOTT YOUR FIRED!
its now about time to bring in a decent coach even if its only a stop gap coach till the end of the season
as nuch as it pains me to say it, imo bring in noble!
hetherington, there is dead wood in the side and it needs to go. get your hand in your pocket and bring in some class players that us rhinos fans should be able to buy with the support we give. we dont want no has been aussies thats here for the last few years and the money
the simple fact is this, we dont want to be kept afloat with mcdermott and the dead wood thats here, we want to be top or near the top, at least with a proper chance to compete. with what we have got we are going nowhere. keep afloat and i fear some of the supporters will disappear having to watch what we are doing at the moment

| Quote ulverstonRhino="ulverstonRhino"aparantly Moz wanted to come back to Leeds after the Roosters but someone (GH?) thought he wasn't worth a 4 year deal???? The mind boggles.'"
To be fair the vast majority of fans thought Morley wasn't worth a four year deal at the time.
As I remember it, in summer 2006, Morley was being chased by Wigan, Leeds, Warrington and Salford (I think there may have been more) and the clinching factor for Warrington was that we offered him a 4 year deal and nobody else was willing to offer that.
Bear in mind he was set to turn 30 early in the first season of those four years, I remember people saying that he was battered and injury prone after his spell in Australia and was past his best, and that by taking him on a four year deal Warrington were risking having 1/2 good years and then paying a high salary for a player who was past his best in the second half of his contract. As it has happened he has barely had any injury problems apart from in his first season and nobody was surprised when he finished his 4 year deal and signed a new one.
He has also been even better than I expected for Warrington, last 2 years he has been a strong contender for MoS.

| I've never been confident of McDermott. Some of his team selections are dodgy and I agree with the comments previously, he is a Quins class coach. He isn't good enough to win trophies, which is what we expect at Leeds.

Maybe thats why you have Mc Dermott in charge.Just to give the rest of us mere mortals a chance.

| Watching him being interviewed after the Warrington game on Sky, you can see why he's failing as a coach. He sounds and looks clueless, dour and incredibly stubborn. I cannot imagine his style goes well in a dressing room, either as a tactical, technical coach or as a motivator.

| Warrington were pretty good against Leeds. Leeds were dreadful - even given the injuries we had and slightly bizarre team selections. Absolutely without structure at both ends of the field and playing with virtually no fire (legal I mean).
We looked like a badly coached team. There's no other way to describe it. I agree that individual players make mistakes, give away penatlies etc, but IMO that's all part and parcel of a side looking fairly clueless about what its trying to do and how to do it and being frustrated at the way things are going.
A good coach can make a lot of difference to a side. Sadly I donlt think that's what McDermott is.

| What has supprised me this year as well I assumed with macs background we at least would be super fit, which doesn't seem the case, we looked to be playing a few speeds down from Warrington all the game.
The biggest blunder for me was the squad selection and missing players who were in form and NOT injured. Playing 2 impact back rowwers from the start and the bizzare interchange times and decisions

Dreadful coaching and dreadfully indisciplined performances notwitstanding, none of that will matter a jot after next week because Leeds will be playing Crusaders (again! yawn), Bradford, Hull KR, Hull FC (twice), Salford, Catalan, Harlequins and Wakefield with only a demanding and testing SL fixture against Wigan sandwiched in-between.
That's the beauty of SL... a team like Leeds can be crap most weeks but it doesn't matter because they aren't tested every week and will still win most games by default.
Leeds will finish 5th at worst.
Leeds will more than likely finish 5th at best too.
