Furner has been coach for 6 months and 14 games ,when the club came in for Turner there will have been discussions and agreements about what to do when Furner came up with his findings about the squad. After the first couple of disappointing results a well known Ex Leeds player who didnt play at the same time as Furner told me he said I know Furner and he wont stand for this much longer , he will get rid .

It's looking to all intents and purposes as if the club have shot themselves in the foot here, potentially because Furner differed from KS & GH on his views on the qualities of some of our players? Jesus!



Here's hoping El Presidente and Sir Kev can explain how things are going to get better having made this change? After all, we were told to expect a reaction from the players after McDermott was sacked, and many of us are still waiting for that. If they haven't got anyone better to come in, I'm struggling to see how this can be a positive change, unless Furner was simply to blame for everything, which I find very difficult to believe.



If GH & KS seriously think it is Furner's fault that the players are not performing to play-off standards, and the likes of Ashton Golding will turn our season around, they could be in for a very rude awakening.

Sorry an ex Player told me that he knew Furner and after those first few bad performances that he wont stand for that much longer he will want the crap out immediately.

Those nonsensically questioning making players available need to wake up. It is a salary cap sport, they need to manage within that. Persevering with players not in plans is stupid. He was told to do a specific job, rebuild. Rebuilding means changes, he had to try and move players on. Have those players reacted in the right manner? That tells you all you need to know.

Cause it's his fault he picks the side he comes up with the tactics he coaches them, the results and performances have been awfull it's his job to get the best out of the players not go "the players are crap get rid of some off them as I can't get anything out of them" if he cannot get the best out of them and improve them then he should not be the coach and has rightly been sacked, he has taken the side backwards. The buck stops with him, if we were mid table and 7-8 wins and the squad was digging in hard and playing with effort, and he was saying that's as good as I can get from the players I gave got, then fair enough, but we are in relagation zone. He had to go.

Second; how TF can he legislate for Lolohea jumping backwards away from a tackle. How can he coach Walker, Myler and Sutcliffe not to kick the ball out on the Fekkin full!? Is it his fault the world class centre and club captain has come back this year and has forgot where to stand and how to run quickly.



I get he carries the can but many of the players are a total disgrace.

How do you know he hasn't got the best out of these players? Let's be honest for a long time now these players haven't been any better.



Do you expect players like JJB, Ferres, Cuthbo, Myler, Tui, Donaldson, Sutcliffe Ablett, Crosby etc to suddenly improve? If so, why?



Weve been told all year to be patient and to let the club rebuild yet the club seems to be making knee jerk reactions left right and centre at every defeat.



I will be honest the thought of another forward coaching us in Furner filled me with dread but Dave served us well as a player, he was a real pro, a rugby man and a decent bloke in my opinion and he deserved a chance to rebuild the club and that was always going to take time.



The decision has been taken so let's see what happens now.

Some super comments on here , and rightly so, somewhere in between these comments is the answer why he was sacked. If you only have access to a limited number of players who are contracted for a guaranteed period of time with a salary cap that cannot be exceeded, then you don't off players by saying they have no future at the club and the club do not want you. It's OK saying on here that Furner was to get rid of the crap, but there is a right way of doing it and a wrong way. It's clear that whoever thought they could give the players this information without any repercussions then they are deluded. He lost the players, the camp is divided between those who like Furner and those who do not. He has made a rod for his own back and Sinfield had no choice but to sack him.

It could not continue as it was when half the team was playing for him the others wasn't.

Everyone has commented about how poor we have been and the defence was bad, but for the first 10 matches he kept playing the same team with few changes. It was clear to all that he had his favourites and certain players would not be dropped. Yes we have shot ourselves in the foot, no one likes changes, but the answer is he should never have been made the coach in the first place, he was out of his depth, he is the wrong man for such a big job,

According to quotes from Sinfield, this is the first time we have had any marquee players. Maybe you know better?

Agree regarding the half's, even a past his best McGuire is better than Myler. Moon was far better than Lolohea.

Parcell and Cuthbertson did look far better players, maybe due to better coaching.

That squad included Keinhorst, Walters, Mullally and Garbutt, all players released by the club.

We have gone backwards since BM left. I know that is not a popular position to hold on here, but that is how see it.

Sorry for the confusion. What I meant to say was that the squad and coaching staff have changed, in the main through the clubs choice. We have supposedly strengthened, yet are miles away from the performances of 18 months ago.

With a poor Briscoe getting picked each week is beyond me. Time to drop him now we have a new temp coach
