AP was at his best between 2003-2006, the fact that Leeds were still massive under achievers up to that point made him aggravating to posters because there was a part of them that knew he was right. Over the last decade though, it's been the same tired jokes and catchphrases. It's very reminiscent to Tommy Cooper after his first heart attack.

People took AP far too seriously.



The loss of G1, Puig Aubert, Dannyboy, JohnD etc from this board has made it far too serious on here sometimes.

Thing is, times move on, McLaren has moved on to his painting, Oldham has bagged a great job with Wish FM, people have grown up and moved on to other things.



I have spoken to a few "younger" posters and the reason they don't come on here anymore is a combination of a few things, mainly that any thread can descend into the usual slanging matches etc and the other is the rise in social media etc.



Although why someone would want to put themselves through some of the brain melting nonsense spouters on the "official" or "Elite" FB sites is beyond me.

Once met JohnD on the Western terrace with Teech many moons ago during a Catalan game, really nice guy.

They may well have a similar low opinion of the type of posters you get on here. A lot of people actually enjoy following this club and are positive about it....you do that on here and you get insulted with "sheep" "apologist" "towing the company line" etc. It's not a very welcoming place for anybody who isn't highly critical of the club.

I completely disagree - boards like this are about opinions as most on here have very little inside knowledge as real facts.



Leeds is the best run club in SL but this doesn't mean they get everything right all the time and pointing that out is surely part of what a message board is all about. An example would be the issues over the ST for the SS 2017 and the proposed new stand. That was a cynical move that nobody at Leeds should be very proud of.



Leeds have been incredibly successful in the last 15 years but the alarming drop in the standard of SL cannot be ignored. Nor can the drab style the team has adopted over much of McDermott's reign. Pointing these things out is not insulting "the sheep" who genuinely see things differently it is just that, a different point of view.



Hopefully the polarising of views will continue otherwise this will be a very dull board indeed

The constant bickering between the same 2/3 posters is boring AF. They should have all been banned years ago - the forum would be a lot better for it.
