I assume Salford just order their kits through one of those bespoke kit design websites though? No real sense having a full kit partner to shift 50 units of the home shirt is there?

Teams are producing three shirts in most cases (home, away and testimonial/charity), which change every year. I can understand why annual change might be needed if you're changing title sponsor or kit manufacturer, but otherwise it's just an exercise in milking those who think they "have" to have the latest kit to stand on the terraces in.
If clubs made kits last two years for example, might more fans be tempted to actually buy the new shirts when they come out knowing they won't be out of date 12 months later?'"
This 3 kits a year is Out of Order now - Leeds United only change their kit every 2 years, so why bring 3 out a year ?
£150 + into the club coffers in the main reason - and they are no longer matching those worn by the players, they are no longer replica's |
