| Quote G1="G1"You know those really special things BJB nearly does, well Briscoe does them.
Not sure why you think the celing for BJBs potential is so much higher, Briscoe is nearly two years younger'"
It's those blue and amber tinted glasses you spoke of.
I think everyone is agreed that if this business is true and it effects spending elsewhere or losing BJB, then it does seem confusing. But putting that aside getting a player of Briscoe's ability is extremely good going. He is a fantastic player, and you are correct that he has bags more in him still.

How do they compare head to head in appearances? I may be wrong but Briscoe does seem to have been around longer than BJB, no doubt BJBs injury record goes against him here.
IMO Briscoe is the better player at the minute but do agree that BJB has a lot more improvement in him which will come in game time.
Anyone know if Briscoe actually lives in Leeds? I saw Briscoe parked up in Tong village a couple of months ago, a quick look in my rear view mirror and the private reg was Briscoe. Read in to that what you want.

Made his debut in 2008 and his three hat-tricks include a 4-try display in 30-46 defeat at Leeds in April 2010.
Ben Jones-Bishop (25 next month) has played 83 career games (including spell at 'Quins and rep' games) and scored 55 tries (rate of 0.66).
He made his debut in 2008 for Leeds and his record for just the Rhinos is 42 tries in 62 games (rate of 0.67).

| No doubt Briscoe is a good winger but has not had the best of seasons so far and Hull have been favouring 2 others on the wing. He has some experience at centre.
BJB on the other hand is our current form winger and has been looking sharper than Hall and I think possible faster than Briscoe. He can play at FB but has had a few injury troubles.
Both would be good but not sure I would let BJB go in favour of Briscoe particularly if Briscoe is expensive.

For once I'm in general agreement with you. However if this season's shown us anything it's that you need more than five good players to cover 1-5. So hopefully we can sign Briscoe and keep BJB. That wouldn't be the worst use of resources, particularly given that in the current climate I would be amazed if ALL of Watkins, Hardaker, Hall & Moon are still in SL by 2015.

| As an outsider looking in, BJB is bar far a better player than Briscoe, tom hasnt been at his best for a while now, where I think he is a good player and will rediscover form on his day BJB is one of the best backs in the comp!

Sorry, cant agree with this at all. Briscoes form this year is down to two things!
the first is Kirk Yeaman, I'm all for home grown players and local heroes but this guy offers us nothing going forward. Hes nearing the end of his career and still cant pass to his winger. Put Briscoe outside either of your centres and you have two of the top three try scorers in the game on your flanks (the other being Charrnley). It also gives you without doubt, the best wing combination in the league by a country mile.
The second is that in Ben Crooks, we've found a centre who creates gaps, breaks, puts his winger away and scores tries, so of course we utilise him. Briscoe simply hasnt had the ball, but in the brief moments hes had half a gap, he's shown his class. He also does an immense amount of work in clearing our lines.
BJB is a good player, but put together a show reel of Briscoes and his, and I guarantee that Briscoe is the player you would take.
A lot of Hull fans are pretty passive about his moving on, me................I'm absolutely gutted!

A winger's centre has much to do with their own performance and because I don't watch FC on a regular basis I can't comment, but I do know that when Hardaker was in the centre role he hardly fed his wingman at all. Also Keith Senior, in his day, could make even an average winger look good.
I really rate Brisco and don't necessarily think that signing him and losing BJB would be detrimental to the club, although I think Ben still has more in his bag of tricks than Tom.

I have to say that I've been watching Hull since I was 7 (Im now 35), and in the super league era, in my opinion, we havent had a player other than Jason Smith, who can pull off some of the plays he does. His tackling is superb, there are so many examples of him stopping a try that to be honest, you had just given up on. His attack given a bit of space is fantastic. He's scored tries that only a handful in this league could. His tackle chasing back Elliot Kear (where he made up a 10m defecit and held him up by the scruff of his collar as he was diving to put the ball down) was a genuine 'how the hell did he do that' moment.
Don't get me wrong, he has his faults. He's not the best under the high ball and occasionaly his positional play is poor, but he's a superb player.
I think that because of the emergence of Lineham (whose been sensational) and crooks (a real wingers centre) on our right edge this year, the loss of Tom has been softened in the eyes of many fans. Its not until next season when we have Jason Crookes lining up on the wing that we'll realise what we've lost. Theres simply no comparison.
Knowing the way Hull have done business in the past, we'll offer you a swap deal. We'll give you Briscoe and £50,000 and you give us Joe Vickery.
