| Unfortunately found wanting in the forwards again. We tried to take on the Wire pack and ultimately came up short. This is a common theme with this Leeds pack as they age, and it's probably not going to get any better. When Peacock and Leuluai go off, we struggle to hole the opposition, and when they come back they are not strong enough to wrestle control back again. Lost count of the number of collisions we lost today, frequently having 1 marker or even none, and again this is a recurring theme throughout the season. Thought the backs went well in the circumstances (behind a beaten pack) although we really need to work on line defensive structure as we really struggle with a number of runners when on our line.
Brave attempt, but came up short. Again.

| Posting as neutral did anyone see the Wood blatant punch. It was no different to the Wigan v Bradford match which resulted in the Wigan hooker being sent off. I bet he will get banned next week which then make a mockery of the incident not being punished on the field.

| Congratulations to the Southstander brains trust, and Brian McDermott, who thought it would be a good idea to play some 12-year-old who'd get caught in the headlights, drop the ball and miss three tackles within 5 minutes of coming on at 12-10 rather than our best strike player of the last decade, no matter how off-form he is.
Obviously not all down to that. But the absence of Webb was one of the major reasons that our attack had nothing going for it.

You summed it up quite well at the end after some garbage written in hindsight about how easy it is to manage a sporting team, with hindsight.

TBF Leeds had very few genuine attacking chances,I doubt Webb would have made much of a difference. The Leeds strategy today seemed to consist of one play, kick in to the corner for Hall.

| Quote HyperbolicRhino="HyperbolicRhino"We were screwed over early on in the second half - the Delaney try was a 50-50 call, then Briers' knock on was ignored - two huge momentum changing moments, we hardly had the ball for the next 10 minutes and by then the game was over. Without the momentum you can't win, and two huge decisions sucked all our momentum away.'"
Delaneys try was not 50-50, Brett knocked on but Luelai clearly knocks it forward before Delaney picked up. The briers knock on went back and then bounced forward.

I've been pretty consistent in thinking Webb should play in the absence of McGuire, with foresight. Obviously we won't know how that would have turned out, because I never said it was easy to manage a sporting team.

But you think you could, and do it quite well, with more success in the next ten years than we've had in the last ?

That's not my job. I can, however, make suggestions having paid to enable those who do that job professionally.

| Well done to Warrington on a deserved victory and credit for adventurous attacking play.
IMO they won the game because they successfully marked Burrow and Sinfield (not at his best) out of the game in addition to slowing down our PTB while not allowing the Leeds defence to do the same to them. We also missed McGuire.
These factors and our silly lack of discipline spell (led by Bailey) which allowed them momentum at a crucial period were the main reasons for our defeat.
That said our 1st half performance had confounded the critics as we were well in the game. However when Sinfield chose to take the 2 points rather than try for 6, it sent out a negative message.
Despite his age JP still put in another big performance - shame some of his fellow forwards couldn´t put us on the front foot though. Without making the metres down the middle our backs never had much chance. We didn't look balanced when Lunt was on the field.

It wasnt clear that Kylie knocked it forward in fact the replays were inconclusive as far as I could see. Briers lost control of the ball it hits the turf and bounces forward.
Whats your take on Briers obstruction towards the end of the first half, professional foul? Sin bin offence?
Its all academic of course, enjoy your teams achievement

I'd say it was blindingly obvious the Kylie knocked the ball forward - and knew what he was doing (completely separate movement from the tackle).
The ball went backwards off Briers - replays proved it.
