I think the issue is that whilst the penalties that we concede are generally correct decisions, we seem (in my biased Rhino eyes) to be penalised for offences where the opposition don't & that is the problem.

I don't think that we get penalised a lot for hands in at the play the ball but we do get penalised for continuing to work the tackled player, for high shots & for offside when we're defending near our own line.

Lee Smith for example last night & Scott Donald against the Bulls or was it vs Saints when he shot out of the line intercepted the ball & ran the length of the field?

All we ask for is consistency.

I agree totally with the point about Ganson & Smith, it all depends when in the game pens are conceded. With Smith it seemed that we were hammered until the opposition were out of sight then he evened it up when we were too tired to be able to take advantage.

Having said all that last night Allibert penalised them at least twice on the fifth tackle, true coach killers.

Finally, whatever we may think I don't believe that refs are biased & without them we have no game.

Neither, it was V the Harlequins with Steve Ganson.

I might have misunderstood Batley's post, but I thought his W/D/L was in relation to the penalty count rather than the result.

If there is a correlation between the penalty count stats per ref and the win/loss ratio per ref, I'd be interested to see it.

Having a go at refs for the odd decision is one thing - very occasionally it can change the result of a game. But lets face it, looking for this sort of thing to try to explain losing games and basically playing badly is a tad desperate. I would have thought that the issue is more around Leeds' (lack of) discipline than any bias.
