Also it would have sounded even worse than "Rhinos".
The club was never going to be called "Leeds Loiners" apart from the fact it sounds terrible theres no way of marketing it. Whereas with Ronnie its much easier to market the name especially to kids. |

Aye - Marketing had a major influence on the choice of Rhinos - but the main reason it was chosen is due to a certain builder's paranoia over the nickname which actually came out top in the YEP's 'You choose the new Leeds name' poll.....

True, but whatever the name it was always going to be something that could be marketed well, and Loiners is tough to sell.
Having said that I would like to see a return of the term in some shape or form, I never thought these words would ever be uttered on this planet but...
Damo's idea was a good one. |

| Going back to Damo's idea, it is a good one.
- Wouldn't affect the club in general, as we all know who they are ...
- Wouldn't affect the RL world in general, as again, they know who Loiners are.
- Might open a new range of merchandise (ahem !  )
- Looking at the Welsh football pyramid, there used to be TNS ... Which was actually short for Total Network Soloutions (but a lot easier to say than the village where the team actually came from - Llanstanffriad). Since TNS pulled out, they're know as The New Saints |
