Quote Andy Gilder="Andy Gilder"Tickets for a fiver? What a ridiculous idea. That might end up attracting people who don't normally go to rugby league games, and that's the last thing the sport needs if it is to continue shrivelling back into its insular, northern shell.'"
How did those cheapo fiver tickets work out then?
Did they manage to attract those people who don't normally go to RL games to turn up again? You know, RLWC legacy and all that?
No? Thought not.
Similar cheapo ticket price policy didn't work at Bradford or Wakefield either. Once established, both existing and potential fans end up expecting cheap and tacky and evaluating the game alongside Poundland and food banks.
So, when the RFL eventually get around to announcing the dates, venues and ticket prices for the Kiwi Series (details which were supposed to be announced in mid-November

), will those tickets be priced at a fiver or a tenner?
