There's something to that, but because of the way we line up BJB and Watkins (or more often BJB and McGuire given Watkins is presumably instructed to defend so far inside) are consistently left 3 or 4 on 2. Not sure what BJB's positioning is supposed to be in those circumstances.

| Quote GCM1980="GCM1980"We still need to sign a centre so that we can stop messing Ablett about. Sign a first choice centre with Keinhorst as back up. Ablett can then go back in to the back row. As good a centre as he is I don't think he sees his long term future there.'"
If the rumour i've heard is correct we've already signed Briscoe, Im sure he started off in the centres.

I believe so.
Just what Leeds need: a champagne signing to bring the crowds in. No, seriously
The club might [ithen[/i be able to afford the major forward replacements that are so much more badly needed (they're obviously not going to promote within from the signings already on the books)

| Briscoe will never make a centre imo, he just doesn't have the hands or rugby brain to make it as a centre. Leave him as a winger were he's one of the best in the league in his position.
As for Leeds signing him. No chance, strong rumours are his willing to chance his arm in the NRL after next season, and fair play to him if that's what he wishes to do.

| Watkins is potentially the best centre we have produced since Newlove and Connoley. Something radical needs to be done about his defence - he seems incapable of reading the game at the moment.
In attack he glides over the surface superb to watch.

| Always rated Watkins and i think defensively he suffers because of our structure and the ones around him rather than his own individual errors.
As for Zak our best signing since Webb and imo he can be as good as he wants to be and i hope to see him stay at FB.
Watkins will always create havoc IF he gets decent ball and i just hope he can now stay injury free.
As for Hall he's a gem and has so much more than many wingers around and imo is one of the best wingers if not THE best winger we've ever had.
I rate Bjb he just needs consistency but is capable of some great things but can also drop brain-farts and imo he's lucky we didn't have a coach who is more ruthless because his place could have alreday gone to Chisolm for at the very least a couple of games.

| My personal opinion is that BJB just isn't a very good defender full stop whilst i think Watkins just suffers from playing in a defensively poor team. I think his defence would look more than solid if he was over at Wigan or Wire.
Even with a different line-up that right side has looked just as weak this season, anyone remember....
Wigan at home 8-50??? That was Ablett and Smith.
Warrington Away 18-37??? That was Ablett and BJB.
Saints at Home 18-31??? That was Watkins and Smith.

| The only concern I have with our back line is BJB's defence - Wakey targeted him throughout the game as I guess they saw him as our weakest link.
That being said, if you had the choice to either kick to BJB or Hall - who would you choose?

It is interesting to note which flank most of the tries were scored down again ... I'll give you a clue, it's not the wing with Hall on it

| I thought Watkins got bagged for defensive efforts at Wembley when time and again he and BJB were outnumbered and facing a team running very good set plays. The tries down that wing were largely created by the plays before.
Ablett's a very capable centre, and I'd have no problem with him remaining there if that's where he wanted to play. But in an ideal world it is a position that could be improved on, as sometimes his movement is a bit slow in both attack and defence.

| Something's a bit weird BTW when Hall hasn't scored a try in 8 or 9 of the games when the team has socred more than 30 points.
