| Its all gone quiet recently - when is his appeal likely to held? - GH needs to have a re-think if it all goes pear shape & he ends up staying at Bulldogs - Soliola looked strong in the game at the weekend - well done Tansey as well - nice to see at least one Rhino on Setanta as Tigers haven;t been on yet!!!!

| Not heard anything Sally.
Seem to remember that his appeal was announced not that long after Crocker's and bearing in mind his appeal decision has just been announced then hopefully we'll hear something in the next couple of weeks.
I fear though and only have watching UK's Border Agency control programme on Sky 1 to base it on,but it seems as if only a small % of visa appeals are successful so i'm not holding my breath that we'll see Eastwood in a Rhinos shirt.
Agree regarding Soliola.HE looked great back in his initial position of second row but is just as adept in the centre so would be a good signing for mine as whilst not upto the class of Ellis at least he would be a 'suitable' replacement for Ellis in that he can be just as effective at centre as in second row.
I think if we could get Eastwood and Soliola for 2010 we could go a long way to solving perceived weaknesses in the pack and at centre with these two additions.
Anyway must dash...got a new car to test drive

| This Eastwood thing was over a long time ago.
Him and Leeds who both declared they will look at getting together next season is just a huge red herring. He's playing in NRL, and Leeds will look elsewhere. Both have partied and will remain so.
They'll leak the news just after we announce a new signing in the future.

In the absence of any new evidence to offer, the appeal was an absolutely pointless piece of sabre rattling by the club and the player with zero chance of success.
Hard to see what will have changed for 2010 either, unless the convictions fall off his record under the Aussie version of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.

It was also in the league express the other week that driving offence's will be reviewed differently by the border agaency in the future after it was in the category of past criminal activity!

You dont need new evidence to win an appeal of an immigration decision, from the evidence I have seen any decent Immigration lawyer should win the case, of course i have not seen everything

| We had a directive come through the other week at work stating the change in immigration rules. it corroborated what the League Express mentioned that driving convictions would be reviewed now on an individual basis. From what i have gathered if you was in a high speed pursuit with the police it'll be an automatic no as this is deemed a level b criminal offence. speeding convictions are classed as a level e offence and will not stop someone obtaining a visa.
what i still don't get however is that Eastwoods dad (i think, could be grandparent) is from Huddersfield. If it is his Dad from Huddersfield why hasn't he just secured a UK passport that he is entitled to? If he did get a UK passport, would that mean also he would not be classed as a quota player?

| No such thing as quota anymore. Players are either Federation or Non Federation players, still plenty of grey areas though.
