What was the score again last Friday at the Galpharm ?

Defensively, Leeds have only conceded 22, 26, 28, 30, 42, 40, 42, 24 and 30 against the Top 4 sides all season at an average of 31.55 points per game.



That's quite some defensive resolve from a consistency point of view.

Lets not talk about Defense

My kids team have a great defence, they have an average points against of 4...

some good goalline but wide open at times



the basic errors didnot help either

There has been giant step forwards in our defence compared to a handful of months ago. The organisation is better, the line speed actually exists and we look comfortable defending our try line.



But the one flaw which needs to be ironed out are the blips in concentration. This seems to still be hanging around. This leads to a flurry of soft trys against us. Look at how much it can cost you - the CC. Against lesser teams you can get away with it and win. But Wire and Saints exposed us in these areas with quickly racking up scores and will obviously have fun doing the same again if we let them. Our attacking game, aided by the form of our key pivots and improved general kicking game, seems to be running a natural game so I would leave that to evolve. But work has to be done in defence alongside putting together a solid 80 minutes. An away game against Wire is a perfect test to see if we can hold together the above. (I'm not saying it's going to be pretty..............)

It's like watching Canon and Ball again. Tommy sets them up and Bobby knocks them out. Who said the comedy double act was dead?

Our defence is still nowhere near good enough. Only real positive is that there's a feel that someday soon we'll put in a proper 80 minute effort. Time will tell whether that day will come soon enough for it to really matter.

Defence is as much about attitude as organisation. The latter can be worked on, the former you've either got or you haven't.

The attitude for me has improved. Both hall and Bailey banged heads and looked fairly heavy against hudds. They were right on our line and both players jumped back up and got back into the defensive line. After the danger had gone both players went back down injured. That for me shows a good attitude in defence

I hope you're not implying that Keith/Jeff (Keff?) is a Bradford fan?

Ferdy I noticed that too. I was very impressed with that. But to win again by only 6 points when we should have won be loads was, in the end, disappointing. Saying that I still feel that IF we put on an 80 minute performance this friday we will be in the final.
