briscoe was awful but he doesn't play for leeds,which is, of course,the point you are making.

on the same track one good kick apart what did tompkins do? great talent but had mcguire played like that there would have been 15 pages by now

Thought Briscoe had a solid game. I also thought he played okay last week as well.

Briscoe did OK, but not outstanding. Would be hard to fault him after the win.

Watched the recording this morning, and only noticed on 76 mins that Wilkin played? Didn't he come on until then?



Crabtree has impressed me, and he needs to consider his future at club level. He will have to move if he wants to win domestic medals, and there is only one club to consider

Crabtree aint going anywhere. He signed a 96yr contract to stay at Huddersfield mid season.

Wasn't overly impressed with Briscoe last night. Looked worried about picking uP a moving ball and when we played the ball deep and wide we had the kiwis scrambling until he received it and play broke down.



Also I don't think Tompkins had a bad game. Much better than McGuire the week before. We should keep this pairing now and concentrate on the future. We are never going to improve if we swap ever game.

I think he was on for about the last 15 minutes.

Briscoe was reluctant to catch the ball all game but doubt he's going to get dropped, Smith should be in there.



I think Tomkins has played OK, always a threat and defence was ok.



The main performers for me are Sinfield, Burgess, Graham, Ellis and Crabtree.

Thought Briscoe looked a bit nervy at times. Nothing outstanding but shrewed enough to make sure he got the penalty to take the game away from NZ at the end.

Briscoe has been average throughout the tournament, hasn't let anyone down but offers nothing whatsoever in attack. Lee Smith should be the full back but TS will stick with Briscoe.

Lee Smith is moving on, and should never have been picked in the squad in the first place. Briscoe played his part in that win, and deserves to keep his place. He's never going to be a great player, and the sooner England somehow develop a good attacking fullback the better, but until then, he's done at least as well as Welens and Radlinski - sorry 'the Ginger God' - for England.
