an old guy in the seat right behind me had a heart attack today after about 5 minutes of the game. we straight away told a steward we needed a paramedic. i am a first aider and sat near me was a nurse. we told the steward to call an ambulance.



she called the st johns who took 8 minutes to arrive and immediately said"why wasn't an ambulance called?".



it then took 13 minutes for the paramedics to arrive by which time the man could have been dead.

we, although we we didn't mind, sat on the steps for the whole of the first half.



surely medical facilities should be on site when so many people were there, the young lass who was a steward was clueless and nobody else, fans apart seemed interested.



the guy seemed to be ok as he left.next time he may not be as lucky

Hope he's ok mate,you should contact the club and tell them what happened because that's poor.

Jeez, hope he's okay, complain about it, today was just a poor day on behalf of the headingley ground staff/steward, Who's ever idea it was to cut off the back of the north stand, is a utter idiot.

You can't use that route now on a sunday if we're playing cos ours it is!!!!

How did you manage to miss the fact that a cricket game was on?

If those people had been sad enough to want to watch a game of cricket they would have paid for it earlier.



There is no reason why they could not have managed to steward people to the right entrances of the rugby match stopping anyone who dawdles to watch the cricket, and moving them on.

It did / has ... The response was equally as poor from the stewards.



Surely for their cost, the club could run to a de-fib kit ?

I was sitting just along the row with my lad and couldn't quite believe the apparent lack of urgency. I'm not a medic, mind.

it was appalling the time it took to get help there

and the paramedics couldn't get past the ice cream/pie and peas/burger ques.





And while we're on it why don't the stewards check entry onto the carnegie terrace these days.I mean ANYONE could get in.
