| Moving on after 20 years at the club to run his own player welfare business with Terry O'Connor.
His player welfare role at the Rhinos will be taken over by the retiring Kylie Leuluai.
Best wishes Baz and thanks for the numerous good (and occasionally not so good) memories.

| I agree.
I still miss Barrie's barnstorming runs, bouncing players off like a tenpin bowling ball knocking down the pins.
Fitting that Kylie should replace him since he's been the nearest to Barrie in all other ways.
Who'll be the new Kylie?

| One of my favourite ever Leeds players. On his day a very talented and destructive forward, possibly the most aggressive player I've seen
I don't know much about his off field work for us but I was informed the academy was left in a mess by John Bastian, and that Barry turned it around

| Wish Barrie all the best with his new venture. He's been a great representative for and a credit to Leeds on and off the field.

| What a superb servant to Leeds he has been, on and off the field. And fair to say - given what he was before he joined us - that Leeds have served Barrie well too. Best of luck in your new venture.
Presumably Kylie's accountancy exams didn't go too well again...

| A sad day for Leeds Rhinos, losing a true Leeds icon. One of my favourite players and wish him well in his new venture. Kylie has a hard act to follow but hey ho the king is dead, long live the king!

No idea, but I suspect even if they had this would have been too good an opportunity to turn down.
Interesting that Barrie has made reference to both of their friendships with Terry Newton, and you wonder whether those tragic events are what has led them down this particular path.

| Gotcha will be happy.
He's been a great servant to the club, and was one of the best props in the world in the late 90s/early 00s. There's been a few poor imitations since then, but no prop quite like him since.
I wish him all the best in his new venture.
Kylie staying must mean his lad is doing quite well at Man City.

| Great player. I'll never forget when we bumped into him in that Irish bar in Perpignan. He was a bit drunker than us, and he did a little dance before leaning over the table and supping some of Lord Percy's pint. We asked Lord Percy if he was going to let Barry get away with that. Lord Percy replied 'Yes.'
His try at Wembley in '99 was when I realised we were finally going to win a major trophy.
Good luck to him in his business with Terry, and I'm glad Kylie isn't leaving the club just yet.

| Absolutely the very best of luck to Barrie in all he does. At last we had a forward that was respected and no one took any liberty's. Again a few years ago bumped into him in France when he was a bit merry and he was great fun, especially how such a big guy could fall and bounce back up in one movement. Class, thanks for all the memories Baz
