Scrappy win but that is all we needed to do, get the win. Hopefully this will give us a kick up the backside and we can kick on from here. I think the way the lads have played for the last few weeks, in fact most of the season, the can be afforded an off day especially when they ground out the result. On to Donny next week and again just a win will do to secure our top 4 spot.

Our starting 13 were not firing on all cylinders today as they have been in recent games, some of that was down to us being our own worst enemy and some of it was down to a good effort from the Batley pack and good scrambling defence that held us out in the first quarter.



In addition I thought the interchange didn't offer any impact from the bench.



In the end a vital 2 points that could have slipped away but didn't and a win at Doncaster should see us home in 4th if the lads keep their focus and take nothing for granted.

Phew I just knew they would get close I was more nervous today than the last 2 games against Sheffield and London as we had so much to lose and Batley are always up for the games against us they seem to have a grudge against us!

The lads did a job without playing too well so lets just finish the job at Donny as a 12+ points win should pit us out of sight of Fev even if they did beat the Eagles.

I'm really looking forward to Sunday should be 2 points and a step nearer the 8's, a good chance to see how far we have progressed under RM and a crack at Leigh.

I maybe tempting fate, but I'm hoping for a fev win on Sunday. I reckon we'll have a real good crack at bradford next week.

We'd get an extra 50K which is worth 1 potential 2 players wages next year and as bonus we'd play the 4th place side in the middle 8's at home!!

The money only gets handed out according to where a team finishes in the middle 8 for example the team finishing 8th receive 450K the higher up the league you finish the more you get. Getting in the middle 8 is all that matters.

Ah, I didn't know that. So in theory we can get more prize money than a current super league club, interesting.



although this does contradict an earlier post about funding.

Agreed, not seen that just the one where you receive it placed on your current placing in this league.

Just to stop all the confusion about money awarded to finishing 3rd or 4th, could I ask Michael Steele just to confirm the figures for me. He kindly explained the the figures at a focus meeting earlier in the season but at that time I must admit I was not that sure we would finish so high. What a difference a good coach can make to our fortunes.

Take nothing for granted , let's get the wins , get in the 8's then when the Fixtures arrive look at where we can win,the Bulls and Leigh games will be very interesting , but very hard as every match will be , I can't wait .
