I wouldn't be surprised if (because many of the contracts will have been signed ages ago) there is a massive bonus for winning/appearing in the Grand Final. This was OK a year ago but now? You get knack all as a club now. It's a dead rubber match that pays zilch. As a player though, with a massive win bonus clause in your contract this may be a big pay day. It's a wild theory





I'm still of the belief in the old fashioned current summary - we're just not good enough. We're probably on a par with Doncaster.

Maybe players are better off as PT with a decent job? I was shocked at your score after playing Fev the other week I thought they looked a beaten team and you would win easily.

Yes, I would rather have any of the above than Karl Harrison. That is how little confidence I have in him. Does anyone really think he is going to coach a part time team to an upset over one of 8 full time teams next year. Take away the bonus point his year and we are looking up at Dewsbury and Doncaster. At Batley he took them up to fifth/sixth place. At Halifax he has taken us down to fifth/sixth place.

you may laugh , but this guy has done it all in Rugby , knows the inside out , has plenty of Success as a Coach at all levels and still watches the Game .



He is a very good friend of mine ,has started to watch Leigh on a regular basis and is very impressed , he came to the Fax v Leigh game , you could do far worse .Charlie knows .

A part time club with much less money available than the current top 2 in this years Championship and even less than those who will be joining it next year sadly that's what we are.



It could easily get worse for us now if we miss out on a top 4 spot next year and thus the play off's with the bottom SL clubs which seems a real possibility.

With the above in mind who could we bring in that we would be confident in before the event?

Would any coaching set up be able to get us good enough because we are not at the moment.

Is it too late?



Trying to be upbeat but very concerned as we will have all the current on and off the field issues and probably a few more as well.

Personally, i think it's a little bit dis-respectful to be discussing such a topic while the coaching staff are currently employed by the club. They've been employed to do their jobs & i presume signed contracts for a fixed term, whatever we think as fans or sponsors they should be allowed to concentrate on their roles without being criticised in this format. We've been down this path many times over & i know from talking to some of the players at that time the "sack Faz" campaign was hurtful to the squad & staff around them, i'm sure this will be the case now. I'm always open about how i see the rugby club but i'm sure i try not to put into writing anything that is personal or pinpoint individuals, that's unfair and after-all they're all in it together, that's where you build a team spirit from. It's a fact i'm not happy with the performances i've witnessed over the last 18 months or so but why do people think coaching Halifax RLFC would be such an attraction to the likes of Andrew Dunneman or Danny Orr, given the roles they already do ?

See the season out & see what that brings i say, i emailed some of the directors earlier this season & in one of the replies i received, i was asked to make my judgements at the end of the season, that is as good an answer as i could have wished for in reality, so that's what i will do.

If you ignore the rumours, Harrison's deal expires at the end of the season doesn't it? So this is an entirely reasonable conversation to have.

I also heard a rumour that the rumoured new deal was dependant on finishing second this year, which is why it wasn't announced. Rumours are rumours though....

Didn't Karl say at the pre season do at the Shay that it was unlikely we would make the top two given the money the other two could spend?
