Quote In respect of Crusaders decision to withdraw their Super League Licence application for the 2012-2014 seasons, the RFL have today granted special dispensation in order to reduce the adverse impact on the players of Crusaders, who were facing an uncertain future after their contracts were terminated.
Due to the dispensation in place, in total there are 13 players (Non-Federation Trained and overseas quota players) from Crusaders who have been displaced. This is a unique set of circumstances, as clubs other than Crusaders have a more limited number of Non-Federation and Quota players.'"
I'm sure this will help teams promote promising UK talent next season!

| That's 13 less SL places available to clubs to play their young, British youth that franchising is supposed to nurture.
RFL, trying to repair the damage they've caused and only succeeding in hammering another nail through a water pipe and flooding their quickly sinking boat.

| Makes you wonder how much the RFL really knew about the things that went on there. They just had to know about it. Wernt the RFL working in parnership with the Crusaders at some point?
These make for interesting quotes:-
[urlhttp://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_league/14328781.stm[/url
Quote Mark Bryant="Mark Bryant"We didn't have to l pay our way to France in 09 but had to leave 6 guys behind cause the club knew they were on illegal visas.
While were on it, the 6 guys who were deported were treated like criminals but the club had full knowledge that they were here illegally.
The then owner promised them hush money and then wiped his hands of them once they were out of the country.
We thought keeping quite about what has gone on was in the best interest of the club, but clearly the owners had no interest in our futures.
Ask @youngquest3 @tommylee6 @thacks30 about not getting there last months pay when the club went into admin.
'"
The RFL made this mess happen. What a joke.

They've always provided 'expert' assistance in terms of actually running the club, as they (apparently) do with every club that requests their advice. The only financial thing I believe was the £700,000 loan from the RFL that was secured against the Racecourse Ground - with Crusaders seemingly out of existence by the end of the season and Wrexham FC in big trouble (two friendlies cancelled as the players have refused to play unpaid) then the RFL could be seeing that money coming back to them much sooner than they might have expected.

| Franchising was brought in to stop clubs getting into financial difficulty. Two of the franchised clubs failed at this - and one has just been given another license.
Halifax, who don't have a license have regulated themselves over the past three years and run themselves very business like. They don't get a franchise.
I think we should give Steven Vaughan a ring.

| Wrexham FC are apparently up a creek paddle-less at the moment too. They've cancelled a friendly and the players aren’t playing until they get paid. Apparently once The Racecourse Ground doesn't have any PRO teams playing there, it can get knocked down and built on. With Crusaders having to be semi-pro at best next year it's vital that Wrexham FC stay in business and in the Blue Square Bet Premier.
That’s the chat in footballing circles anyway. But there’s just as much pish chatted there as in RL to be fair.

The last I heard from was that it was unsure just which division they would be playing in.

I'm sure they'll be ok. After all, they saved the RFL's blushes by keeping Fax out of SL. If you know what I mean.
